I finally decided to put on few updates, as I've got the web now. So I'm no more a nomad, I live once again in America, & it feels really damn good.
If I found enough time I'll try to put on music updates on this pages.
What else ? Like the title of a good old Mötley record I got a "new tattoo".


I did it in Brasil when I went there with the Zohan connexion.


Got also a new haircut as you can see, ouch !

End of the emiT remmuS, let's go back to the Jungle !

It's almost the end of the summer time. As always, it was tons of fun.
But I'm glad to going back in French Guyana, next week. The days goes shorter & colder here, can't wait to be under the tropical sunshine, see back the jungle and all my crazy friends over there.
I'm gonna take the plane next wednesday, so it's the end of the concert season for me.
I still don't know when the next one will be... I'm thinking about doing a trip in USA as there'll be probably amazing shows over there (ACDC ? the Rocklahoma 2009 edition ? a Mötley tour or a Poison one ? Or even the Stray Cats american leg of their farewell tour ? Why not, it was so good over there ! We'll check it out later).

I've been listening to tons of new great stuff lately, the blog might not be updated (due to technical difficulties in the first weeks/months I'll be over there !), and I don't even know if I'll go on with that stuff. But the ones of the friends will surely be a pleasure for your eyes, & you might see me here & there, so check'em out.

J'y vais d'une courte version en français également. Les vacances touchent à leur fin et d'ici mercredi je reprend l'avion, direction la Guyane ! Héhéhé retour sous le soleil (bon au taf' également, on peut pas éternellement se la couler douce de concerts en bon plan vacances). Voici une dernière série de clichés de cet été 2008. Allez faire un saut sur les blogs des amis pour avoir du texte, Billy notamment s'est fendu d'un long texte narrant nos péripéties et la vie de "château" ;-))

Je ne sais encore si je continuerai de tenir à jour ce blog, après tout il y était essentiellement question de virée concert... Les prochains shows ? Surement pour l'été 2009, enfin pas pour tout de suite.

Hop, on commence par une photo avec le paternel, Douma et vous pourrez apercevoir Delphine qui se promène dans un coin. Un temps magnifique, on avait vu de tout niveau faune ce jour là, et comme toujours sur cette montagne : gros zef, ce qui explique le peu de végétation et son petit nom pas usurpé : la Pelade.

Voici le fameux groupe des survivors qui est allé au bout des épreuves du château. L'ultime c'était la côte de boeuf de presque 3 kg. Billy est déjà prêt pour Bayonne, comme on peut s'en apercevoir, Delph' la joue superstar, genre je me fais péter le ventre mais avec mes lunettes de soleil "jetset".


C'était à la mi-août, le jour de la première date de la tournée d'adieu du groupe de rockab' les Stray Cats ! On allait pas manquer ça. Direction Bilbao accompagnée d'Elsie venue de Belgique. Pour mon petit frère Nicolas c'est son baptême du rock. Attention le Pays-Basque, les rockers pyrénéens sont prêts à débarquer :

Ahhhh sweet summer lazy dayz, it feels so good when the hottest months in the year are coming. Did I say lazy ? I should have prefer busy, as I did many kilometers in july.
I went two times in Britanny : first for the wedding of Totof & Cécile, two friends that I met in Guyana.
The second time was with the wild bunch at the fest’ « Les Veilles Charrues ».
This year was a blast as I had the chance to see ZZ TOP & they rocked the house with their booggie groovie rock !
I go on in french for the rest.
Après le périple breton on a enchaîné dans la foulée sur les Pyrénées. Là les amis ch’tis se sont joint à la bande. Randonnées à gogo, acrobranche/acromix, sources d’eau chaude, et à chaque fois bon repas au chalet familial aux Angles.

Les plus courageux qui ont pu rester jusqu’au bout ont goûté à certains délices montagnards et on s’est terminé en petit comité aux férias de Bayonne qui ne sont rien d’autre que de monumentales orgies.

Finalement j’ai passé la majeure partie de ces vacances dans le sud de l’Europe, d’ailleurs en parlant de sud, vous voyez où je veux en venir ?
La petite compil’ habituelle (que ça va faire une semaine que j’écoute 36 milliards de morceaux pour arriver à n’en retenir qu’une vingtaine).

Avec pour thématique cette fois-ci : les groupes/artistes/morceaux aux influences « southern rock » : à savoir qui ont comme grand aïeux Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackfoot ou encore ZZ TOP. Certains tapent quand même dans le rock velu et craspec’. Pour d’autres c’est le parfum de Nashville, TN qui plâne (vous les reconnaîtrez de suite). Fermez les yeux et montez le son, vous y êtes. Un bar à fléchette de Jacksonville, Floride avec un bourbon type « Southern comfort » entre les pognes, le chapeau de cowboy vissé sur le crâne, les bottes au pied, z’avez compris le topo ! Les Roller girls qui assurent le service n’attendent qu’une chose : le trip en Harley, direction Sturgis, South Dakota ;-)

Le dernier concert rock de l'année 2008 approche, et quel concert mes amis, quel concert !
La tournée d'adieu des chats de gouttière, ça vous parle ?
La tournée débute ce weekend par Bilbao, les dates françaises tombant en septembre (alors que je me trouverai à 8000 kms de là), impossible de rater l'évènement l'occasion ne se présentera pas deux fois.


Je vous raconte pas l'excitation qui monte à l'idée de voir Lee Rocker, Slim Jim Phantom & Brian Setzer !
Première fois également que j'emmène mon petit frère Nicolas voir un concert de rock, avouez qu'il y a pire pour commencer.
Bref cette semaine on revise ses classiques du rock, & ce weekend on va célébrer Gene Vincent & Eddie Cochran comme il se doit : 50's rock n' roll is still alive in 2008 !

Hey Glamfreaks,
Tow months ago Traci Michaelz, drummer in the PEPPERMINT CREEPS & ex members of many cult glam bands like HEART THROB MOB & CANDY APPLE QUEENZ passes away.
There's a big show tonite in California.
I had the chance to saw him live in january & share a drink with this amazing musician.
RIP.

June’s drive me crazy with all the good parties here & there. Right here in Lille, you can feel the summer dayz coming, lazy days & crazy nights ! Two good advices : don’t go to the Farafina rhum bar, if the drinks are hot as hell, you can’t scream as loud as you want. You should prefer the Daara J, a perfect place to end up a good night, sweet music, and amazing cocktails : two thumbs-up for this one ! You’ll also be able to see amazing legs if you’re lucky.

In the beginning of the month I went to Luxembourg with Myriam, Cassandre, Morgane & Julien, to see Dysneyland After Dark. D-A-D is on my top 3 of my fav’bands. First time I saw them was for the 2000’s millennium show in Copenhagen their hometown. Last year I saw then once again on a big stage. So it was a thrill in this great club “L’Atelier”, I even had the opportunity to meet them backstage.









I saw two times one of the greatest new band coming directly from the country that give us the Foster, Crocodile Dundee, Wolfcreek, the Aborigine culture & the Wallabies. Didn’t find it yet ? Kangaroo land ? That’s it baby ! Australia ! Of course if you’re gonna think music from there ACDC comes to your mind ! Well think it twice because they might be the next big thing : AIRBOURNE. They burnt the Virgin on the Champs Elysées, Paris. And the day after they did the same in the club “Magasin 4” in Brussels.

7 years since I last saw a BON JOVI concert, we got the opportunity to find “cheap” tickets for this big stadium show. 2h20 mn of pure fun : for sure it was ONE WILD NIGHT ! Dry county never sounded that good !




And to conclude : KISS, TWISTED SISTER, DEF LEPPARD, WHITESNAKE, JOURNEY, REO SPEEDWAGON à yeah that’s the Arrow festival. One day of total craziness for the rock maniacs like me.

Stand up & Fight !

Here we go, with a big update for may. Always plenty of concerts, great parties & good rockin’ this time all over the Benelux ! I’ve only been once in Paris, and it was for a hardcore party at La Loco including AGNOSTIC FRONT and a couple of others bands. Strange to see THE BONES on the bill. Even if few people were rockin’, shakin’ & dancin’ to their good songs, it was a hell of a show as these Swedes know how to put a place on fire !





It was the second time that I saw Y & T. There’re around 3 years between the pictures, but Dave Meniketti & his californian partners are still perfect entertainers.




Wooooaaaww I almost lost my voice with classics such as “Summertime Girls”.I also met a nice & sweet glamrock fan there, Miss Pamsie Glamsie ! (Thanks again for the pix !).



Talking about my passion for glamrock, it drove me two times on the LEADED FUEL European tour with the crazy MarcX. Once in Germany, then in Holland : Swedish sleaze scene is paradise for people like us who’s boots are still stuck in the 80’s.



When glam attitude mixes with good horror & action movies taste, you get the wildly creative WEDNESDAY 13 : terrific and excellent ! A bit short, but a perfect set including a classic from the DRAG QUEENS FROM PLANET 13 : Rambo !





I also get my kicks over there in Lille.
Les potes lillois n’arrêtent pas de me traîner dans tout un tas d’excellents plans typiquement nordiques. J’ai déjà goûté à l’estaminet, à des friteries bien grasses et tout un tas de troquets fort respectables. Ma conversion aux délices cheuteumis s’est poursuivie du côté de Bollaert où j’ai pu assisté au dernier match des sang & or de Lens. Je suis pas un grand fan des manifestations sportives et malgré « les Corons » de Bachelet ce fût la descente du RC Lens en D2. Cela méritait pour notre part une descente dans un bar à rhum de la capitale du Nord (moins pire que certains traquenard polonais, n’est-ce pas ;-)

Mai fût un mois agité et difficile pour les amis guyanais qui font l’actu de leur région (voir les récents JT d'RFO). Une actualité qui se classerait dans une rubrique chataîgne de ce blog s’il y en avait une comme en témoigne ces vidéos ici et là : Stand Up & Fight !

Et puis j'ai appris également l'arrivée de bébés comme s’il en pleuvait ces derniers temps. Vous vous en apercevrez en parcourant les blogs des amis (les petits liens sur le côté). Une fois de plus welcome to the jungle à Meyline (Guyane), Yuka Anaïs (Canada) et à la paire Eline & Lucas (BZH). De la future graine de rocker tout ça je vous le dis !
